Fred and Jon Wilhelm of Marketshare gave us quite a challenge by requesting "teal" colored keepsake bowls to match their company colors. This was our first attempt at mixing blue and green bottles, which in most cases would not be compatible with each other. After trying several "recipes", as team member, Richard, calls them, we had a beautiful, sparkling, teal bowl that ended up making unique customer appreciation gifts for Marketshare clients. And to top it off, the new teal keepsake bowl has become a favorite of new and existing customers alike, Yay! That was fun! A big thank you goes out to Marketshare for their support and confidence in us, and for encouraging us to reach out into the realms of creativity. It reminds me of what our mom used to say "where there's a will, there's a way" and of course we all remember "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again." And now I will add another saying that Marketshare brought to my attention "The Sky's the Limit!".

And Forever Glass plans to be one of the first tenants in the commercial buildings, offering employment for the residents and others in the community with autism and developmental disabilities, making a great team!

<![CDATA[Small town - Big History in Placerville, California]]>Wed, 06 Jul 2016 21:20:18 GMThttp://foreverglass.works/connections-blog/small-town-big-history-in-placerville-californiaForever Glass makes history with their First Signature Keepsake Bowls created for long-time Placerville family, the Combellacks. The Combellack's store has been family owned and operated since 1888. To celebrate the wedding which happened in June, the family wanted a unique wedding gift. During the celebration, family members stowed away the recycled bottles from the joyous toasts made in honor of the bride and groom. The wine served was from 2 long-time California wine makers, one from central California, Mirassou Winery and Placerville local, Boeger Winery. As you can see, the glass bowls made from the recycled bottles look quite different from each other. Forever Glass uses the rare technique of spinning molten glass after crushing the recycled bottles. The bottle glass is kept separate throughout the entire process to ensure the bowls are made from the specific bottles from the event.
Wow! What an honor for Forever Glass to make these beautiful Signature Keepsake Bowls for the Combellack family wedding. We wish Laura and Kevin many happy years together and hope they enjoy their Keepsake Bowls to hold dear the memories of their special wedding day. While doing so they will also know that this unique gift paved the way for adults with autism to shine on at Forever Glass. Go Green for Autism
